Thunder Ranch Wildlife & Hunting Due to Thunder Ranches unique setting near Blue and Diamond Mountains and being adjacent to the Green River, the Ranch is home to numerous wildlife and game bird species. A small herd of elk resides at the Ranch year round; however the show begins as Herds of elk begin migrating from the nearby mountains to enjoy the abundant food, water, space and relative protection. Just before the October Elk season these amazing animals begin their migration from the mountains of Eastern Utah and Western Colorado and they reside on the ranch during the breeding season. Screaming bulls can be heard all throughout the ranch and the ranch is very well known for producing exceptionally large bulls and it is not uncommon to see 200-300 elk roaming the area each day. It is definitely the premier place to witness nature in action. |
